Happy Halloween!

These are the best pictures I could come up with. No one wanted to cooperate. Imagine that! More pictures to come tomorrow of all 3. Austin is planning on being his favorite character and I'm hoping Brayden will wear his! I know Keaton will pull his Pooh ears off first thing.

Time to carve the pumpkin

I was excited to carve this year. I don't think I ever got around to it last year with Keaton being new and all. We waited for Austin to get home and then went outside to minimize the mess.

Brayden wasn't really sure what was going to happen with the pumpkin. He has a book with a story about a pumpkin farmer. It talks about the gooey mess inside the pumpkin but he was definitely surprised by what was inside!

Keaton is always willing to try anything for dinner! (he didn't actually eat it)

So here was the finished product. Austin took a picture after each shape was removed, but you get the idea from this picture.

Brayden and I took it to the front porch, I ran in to get some candles, and came back to this. Evidently Brayden decided he needed a closer look.

I tried to toothpick him back together....

Oh well!

My vote has been cast

So Jeff was off today and we were able to take turns voting instead of trying to drag the little boys in with us. It worked out really well. Good thing Brayden fell asleep on the way because he would have been greatly disappointed. I told him we were going to vote and his reply was, "fishing". At first I didn't know what in the world he was talking about. "We're going to vote". "Going fishing". Oh, I get it, you think I said we were going on a boat..... Too cute. Nah, sorry little guy. I wish we had a boat! =) Since we moved in the spring and neglected to notify the board of elections in our old county, (how irresponsible!) we would not have been able to vote without the early voting. So, we registered in our residing county and for the first time since college, I had to fill in the bubble just right so the machine would read my vote correctly. In KY, we had the electronic machines outfitted with those nifty curtains. Anyway, I'm so thankful it wasn't like those crazy punch ballots that I was all too obsessed with in 2000, but it felt a little silly filling in the bubbles just so. I'd rather push a button. Just call me lazy. Let me know the results, I'm SO over the media at this point. Please stop with your stupid polls!

came across this picture....

Bear with me....I'm pushing 30 and find this stuff funny! Since I'm sure to bombard you with more Halloween pictures of my guys this week, here's an early Happy Halloween picture just for you! That's me, aka Raggedy Ann, in what I think is 1994. My sidekick is my forever friend, Erin, aka Raggedy Andy. They were her grandparent's costumes sewn by her grandmother. I don't know when they wore them, but they were still in great shape when we dressed up. I'm pretty sure we were sophomores because her brother drove us to the FCA Halloween party so I guess we didn't have licenses!

Best Week Ever 10/20 - 10/26

Running behind as usual.... I was sitting here trying to think of things that we did last week but it wasn't much! We played outside much more than we have been able to (because of the stooopid mosquitoes) and I took pictures. They've had fun playing together. Keaton was hoping he might be able to operate the tricycle but no luck! I've been trying to get the boys portraits done and it usually causes me stress. I don't know why, but I always feel like I have to make sure that I have portraits to document these times in their lives. Keaton has not wanted to sit still from 6 months - present day. They aren't willing to cooperate some days so I just have to give up and put it off another day. I guess it's less stressful than packing them up and taking them to someone else so I should be thankful for that. Although, I do know a few ladies that take some awesome pictures. Too bad none of them are close! Anyway, I'm almost done with Brayden and will hopefully be done with Keaton's this week and I then I will have more to post! I also want to take just Austin down to the beach one day and try to get some new ones of him. He got a hair cut and those don't happen very often anymore. I guess the cool thing is to not get a haircut more than once every 2 months.

Best Week Ever 10/13 - 10/19

Potty Training!
I don't have a picture of B on the toilet (oh darn), so here's a silly one, but he's finally decided potty training is cool! Something clicked on Friday and he's been doing great since then! Whew, I'm glad to have that marked off the list of things to do. So, as his reward for going poo poo in the potty, he got a new Rosie train and a new crane for his thomas the train collection. He had lots of fun playing with them!

Brotherly Love!

To end, I wanted to share this sunrise picture. Brayden was looking at the sun a few mornings ago and brought me my camera and told me to take a picture so here it is. Very colorful!

House Arrest

We've really been confined to the house lately. The mosquitoes are HORRIBLE! It doesn't help that the last few days have been warm summertime weather, but still, it's totally ridiculous the crap we have to put up with from these useless creatures. We went for a short walk up the street the other day to take some pictures and Keaton had long sleeves and jeans on. Within a 2 min. time frame, he was bitten on the face 10 times. They love him! They were biting me too, but they don't usually bother my face. Conveniently, with frustration levels through the roof, walmart clearanced this stinger mosquito killer. Jeff picked one up and it is on 24/7 duty to get rid of these blood suckers. I really don't think it will work miracles, but maybe it will help at least some!

Best Week Ever 10/6 - 10/12

We had a good week around here. The boys are growing and learning every day. Of course Brayden turned 3 this week and he seems to be getting wiser by the minute. The newest Crash Bandicoot game came out this week and Austin was happy to finally cash in the $ he had been saving to get it. Since I've been running behind with the pictures lately, I'm going to include these that were taken last weekend. Mothers and Daddy Bill came out to NC for a visit and Joey and Vicki brought them down to see us one day. We had a nice time and went to the beach! So, of course it was family picture time and we got some good ones! The little boys had a blast at the beach. Keaton has really taken a liking to it over the last 2 months. The first part of the summer he would cry just when you walked near the waves with him. He loves it now though and it makes for very sandy impromtu walks on the beach. We used to carry him and now he wants to head straight for the water.

To the fire station!

Since Brayden is into fire trucks this year, Ken called the BGFD while we were visiting and scheduled a visit. Brayden was very impressed. He didn't say much of anything, just observed and checked things out. While we were there one of the trucks came back from putting out a fire.
