First Steps and the week in review

Now what??

Why do they do this??

a little quiet time...doesn't last long

Keaton and Elmo meet

I went most of the week without any posts! It's been a little busy around here. Keaton is starting to take his first steps and Brayden is potty training. Those two things alone are taking up most of my spare time!

Keaton's (not 6 months, not 9 months)

hurry up before I'm a year old pictures. If you're a regular around here, you may remember a post from a couple of months ago when I shared a photo of Keaton in the same outfit. I tried to get some cute shots of him but he really wasn't cooperating. It was pretty much the same this time around, but I did manage to get a few cute ones and here they are. Also, a funny face from Brayden......

Together for a picture!

Jeff and I celebrated our 11th anniversary on Sat. and I made sure we took a minute to take a picture together. I can't believe how few we have of the two of us. I guess there's more important photo subjects running around here......

Something a little different

Now that the invites have been mailed out, I want to share a recent project that I worked on. I was asked to design a 50th anniversary invitation for a local radio host.

I always appreciate the confidence that some of my clients have in me to work on something a little out of the "norm". When I created Pat A Cake Desigins, I knew I wanted to design birth announcements but have found that my abilities stretch much further. When we moved and I attended WKU to major in public relations, I was one of the first to attend classes in the newly constructed, state of the art, Mass Media and Technology Hall. It was there that I was introduced to just about every graphics program Adobe had on the market at the time. Recently I started thinking about that class and found some of my old files for the assignments. I came across my very first creation. We were to create a menu for our business from scratch. No templates, clip art, etc. It's funny to look back now and see the simplicity of the design, but I remember spending a couple of hours getting that coffee cup's curves just right!

He's unstoppable!

Our little man had his heart checkup yesterday and he passed with flying colors! His aoritc valve is wide open and there is very minimal leakage. He did NOT want anyone touching him, weighing him, measuring him, etc. so the echocardiogram was a little difficult. She saw what was most important though so hopefully the next time he goes he will remember it and won't be so upset. The wonderful Dr. Delaney has moved to Nebraska though and we saw a new pediatric cardiologist yesterday, but she was nice and she also has 3 boys. Anyway, yay for Brayden! It's always a relief to get wonderful news! Here is Mr. Handsome in his tux. I finally got around to taking some photos of him and he cheesed for me so I could take a few pictures.

Our Bedrooms

Austin's room got a makeover for his birthday this year. A cool going to middle school bedroom.

Brayden and Keaton's room version 2.0 Their walls are a very light blue/green/gray and it doesn't show up very well in the photos.

Finally! I have finished decorating my bed! I received the quilt as a Christmas gift almost two years ago and never got around to accessorizing it. Also, my friend Lindsay took an amazing photo of some white roses with a lime background and I had it enlarged. Until this photo came along I could not figure out what in the world to hang over my bed. Thank you Lindsay for sharing your art with me!

Fun in the sun

The boys got to hang out together in the pool for the first time recently. Austin is a fish but Brayden and Keaton haven't had much experience. DeDe and Ken brought Austin home from his extended trip in KY and their hotel had a pool so they had fun. Brayden got brave and started jumping off the side with his water wings and Keaton finally warmed up to his baby seat float. (the alligator ring was just for the picture...he would have fallen right through it!)
